This year, the advent calendar madness started early and caught me off guard. Last year, I wrote my post on advent calendars in November and got much criticism about being way to late – so this year I’m super early. Down below, you can check out some of the advent calendars that caught my eye this time around. This post may contain some spoilers!
ASOS (www.asos.com, 74€)
Asos advent calendar will most likely be the one I get for myself this year. There are some really cool brands in there that I’m looking forward to trying out, such as Starskin, Smasbox, Cowshed, Carmex and so forth. It’s easy on the eyes and also has a special surprise in the last window. Inside, you’ll find a code for 20 % off your next purchase which may come handy during the year.
THE BODY SHOP (50€ for 24 Days of Beauty)
Word on the street is that The Body Shop is finally coming to our beautiful little Slovenia and I really hope it happens before December. The rest of you can probably get in online. They have a couple of advent calendars available, the cheapest one will cost about 50 €. I really like Body Shop as a brand and I think that advent calendars are a great way of sampling different products, making future purchases much more simple. Am I right or am I right?
ESSENCE (drugstores, about 25€)
Last year, I did a lot of thinking whether or not I want the Essence advent calendar. I ended up not getting it. This year, I wouldn’t miss my chance because in the last year, Essence improved their quality so much it’s crazy! I’m sure there are a bunch of great products hidden inside this advent calendar. It’s designed like a book, really pretty and a calendar I’d proudly showcase somewhere everyone could see it. I might give one out in a giveaway – would you be interested in that?
L’OCCITANE (standard 59€, premium 100€)
This year, L’Occitane is rolling out who different advent calendars. If you follow me on Instagram, you can find all the products from last year in the feed. I really liked it – there were some hand creams, some soaps, shower gels, perfumes and such. I’ve still got some samples left so I’ll skip on buying it for myself this year, but if you like L’Occitane products, I’d certainly recommend it. You can also go for the deluxe version, which is currently available through Feel Unique. It holds some more luxurious products. I don’t want to spoil any surprises but I had a sneaky peek and let me just say that you’ll be getting much more then you’ll be paying for it.
LOOK FANTASTIC (www.lookfantastic.com, 95€)
Speaking from design viewpoint, Look Fantastic outdid themselves this year. This calendar is formed like a box with five drawers. Each drawer contains a couple of packages with gifts. When you’re done opening them, you can reuse the box – to store make-up, of course! Well, you can certainly store other things like sewing kit or jewelry in there, but let’s not kid ourselves, shall we? Sadly, I’m not a big fan of the contents this year so I’ll most likely end up skipping it. Hopefully, they’ll keep this box concept until next year when the gifts will perhaps be more to my liking.
ARTDECO (Muller, cca 50€)
This is one of the calendars that will be so hard to resist – I know I’ll be walking past them for the next two months and I just might cave under the pressure of wonderful packaging and the brand that I really like. The entire value of the calendar is over 140€ which is not surprising considering it holds 21 full size products and 3 deluxe samples. Inside, you’ll find a bit of everything – some nail polish, some make-up and even some skincare! Artdeco is a brand that often gets neglected so I’m really happy they brought this calendar to the market – at a very reasonable price. This way, more make-up enthusiasts can get to know the brand better. Hm… perhaps I should include this one in a giveaway as well?
NUXE (Feel Unique, 55€)
Last but not least on my list is the Nuxe advent calendar. I’m not sure if you can get it in Slovenia – I found my on Feel Unique. It’s a 10-day calendar, but trust me that you’ll get a bunch of skincare products in just 10 days. Among other things, you’ll get to try their famous oils – with and without shimmer. If you’re not familiar with the brand yet, this is certainly a calendar I’d recommend, since the sizing is generous and you’ll really get to know the products well.
These are the calendars that really caught my attention this year as the most interesting, innovative, pretty or simply fun. Which one are you getting for yourself? Until next time, stay beautiful!
